Project Overview :
USAID Recovery Within our Reach project : Community-Based Drug Treatment and Recovery (CBDTR) Services in the Philippines is a five (5) year project from May 2019 to May 2024.
The primary objective of the project is to help persons who use drugs (PWUDs), people in recovery, and their families obtain access to informal care, self-
help or community-based treatment and recovery support to reduce or prevent drug dependence. By the end of the project, more communities will be able to provide evidence-
based approaches to CBDTR services that Filipino PWUDs and their families can access without fear or prejudice.
Position Overview :
The Technical Lead Prevention & Social Behavior Change Interventions, and overall Technical Director will lead overall implementation efforts related to behavior change and prevention interventions for adolescents, youth, men and women to access voluntary drug demand reduction services.
Job Description :
Under the management of the COP, lead overall implementation efforts related to behavior change and prevention interventions for adolescents, youth, men and women to access voluntary drug demand reduction services.
Work with the project staff and subject matter experts from partner organizations, DOH and other stakeholders in the design, field-
testing and integration of key drug demand reduction messages and promotion of voluntary facility and community-based services.
Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to use monitoring and evaluation results to strengthen program capacity to address needs and refine strategies targeting drug prevention interventions.
Engage local communities in drug prevention interventions.
Engage public and private media companies to promote key drug prevention messages and services.
Develop and promote social media platforms targeting behavior change interventions.
Required Experience & Qualifications :
Graduate-level training in psychology, behavioral sciences or related field with specialized training from an accredited facility on substance abuse prevention and treatment.
Experience in working with addiction and substance abuse patients or facilities serving PWUDs.
Experience in the design, testing, and evaluation of social and behavior change interventions for substance abuse.
7 years of experience working in public health programs covering substance and / or mental health issues.
Extensive leadership and project management experience.
Full-time commitment to project.
