The Role : A world leader in the development and application of innovative technologies for the inspection, monitoring and management of physical infrastructure, Xylem seeks to hire a Monitoring Specialist that will be responsible for monitoring water distribution systems for utilities worldwide.
Essential Duties / Principal Responsibilities :
Monitoring, in real time, water supply anomalies raised by water distribution systems, monitoring is scheduled in 12-hour shifts (day and night shifts), with 24 / 7 coverage
Alerting relevant agencies for potential pipe bursts and leaks
Performing remote analysis and troubleshoot of any site issues
Minimizing the loss of a precious resource worldwide water
Communicating with fellow personnel in order to determine appropriate course of action.
Participating in training to learn software and response procedures required for anomalies of various complexities.
Minimum Qualifications : Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License / Certification :
Bachelor / College degree in Physics or equivalent is required
Good judgement and interpretation skills
Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adept to new standards
Excellent writing and communication skills in English
Proficient in Microsoft office and high level of computer literacy
Attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
Organized and able to prioritize various tasks to meet deadlines
Experience with pipeline is an asset.
Able to work with minimal supervision
