The Project provides advisory support to the Office of the Presidential Advisor on the Peace Process (OPAPP) and other partners in the attendance of conflict induced displacements in the case of Mindanao in general and Caraga in particular with its specific recurrence and short duration.
The partner organisation is the secretariat of the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC) which is held by the Office of Civil Defense.
The assignment is focused on the support of the institution in fostering conflict sensitive approaches in disaster risk reduction and the mainstreaming of the do no harm approach within the institution, especially with regard to internal displacement, and beyond.
Providing professional advice to partner institutions, technical support in information management and capacity development interventions to partners in the field of internal displacement, peacebuilding and conflict sensitivity
Supporting capacity building measures in the field of peacebuilding and conflict transformation
Supporting the integration of peacebuilding and conflict sensitivity in the core processes as the elaboration of Regional DRRM Plan, Local DRRM Planning and Regional Disaster Preparedness Plan, Regional Risk Profile, Manual of Operations etc.
Strengthening the knowledge management and organizing knowledge transfer and good practices involving relevant key stakeholders (Office of Civil Defense (OCD), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of the Interior and Local Government (NEDA) and the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP)), and enabling technologies to capture, manage, share, and collect relevant information on internal displacement
Organizing local events and workshops related to the project topics (internal displacement, peacebuilding and conflict transformation)
Advanced university degree in Social- or Political Science, Peace and Conflict Studies, Geographic or Development Studies
Several years of professional experience in the field of peacebuilding, conflict sensitivity and conflict transformation, especially at the regional and local level;
Excellent moderation, facilitation and communication skills
Good analytical skills, structured thinking, and ability to communicate complex information and issues in a user-oriented way
Strong team player and readiness to integrate into regional institution and work with regional and local stakeholder
Self-motivated and focused with ability to work independently
Willingness to enhance skills as required by the tasks to be performed - corresponding measures are agreed with the GIZ management
Fluency in English (written and oral); preferably also knowledge of Visaya / Cebuano
