Job Purpose

The Advanced Vehicle Engineer will be responsible to deliver major vehicle commodities at vehicle level for future Canoo products.

You will develop parts and commodities, dynamic systems for BIW, Closures, Chassis, Exterior and Interior. You have an absolute passion for design and pushing the automotive industry to where the electric vehicle revolution will allow it to go.


  • Develop vehicle systems and commodities at vehicle level
  • Demonstrate critical thinking in introducing advanced technologies in mainstream vehicle development
  • Have knowledge of automotive product development, including creating requirements, DVP's, DFMEA, GD&T, component and vehicle testing and other fundamental system engineering principles
  • Ability to navigate the complexities of a start-up and deliver projects on time, at cost and at quality standards that are expected in the automotive space
  • Have a good understanding of automotive component packaging requirements across all departments
  • Utilize CAD (preferably Catia V6) to create, review and organize information from and for Design and Engineering
  • Provide guidance to Design and Engineering on interior and exterior feasibility
  • Deep understanding of competitive landscape
  • Experience

  • 12 years relevant automotive experience at OEM and / or Supplier
  • Highly proficient in Catia V5 (Catia V6 / 3D experience preferred)
  • Bachelors Degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Industrial Design, Product Design, Automotive Design)
  • Great knowledge of automotive landscape, particularly as it pertains to Electric Vehicles
