JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS :
The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Penn State College of Medicine has an open Human Research Technologist position.
The laboratory investigates the efficacy of exercise rehabilitation programs to treat claudication in peripheral artery disease (PAD) patients, and examines ambulation, physical function, and vascular health in PAD and older adult populations.
The successful applicant will be expected to participate in all aspects of research projects, including but not limited to recruiting and screening subjects, scheduling and performing research visits, conducting research tests, administering exercise interventions, entering and managing data into databases, maintaining research charts, assisting with all aspects related to IRB submission of research protocols and documents, and overseeing the overall conduct of research study activities.
Strong communication skills are highly desired. Motivated candidates should submit a cover letter summarizing their qualifications and experience.
Typically requires an Associate’s degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
A background in clinical exercise physiology and / or clinical work experience with older patients is preferred. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with possibility of re-funding.
