Project Overview :
USAID Recovery Within our Reach project : Community-Based Drug Treatment and Recovery (CBDTR) Services in the Philippines is a five (5) year project from May 2019 to May 2024.
The primary objective of the project is to help persons who use drugs (PWUDs), people in recovery, and their families obtain access to informal care, self-
help or community-based treatment and recovery support to reduce or prevent drug dependence. By the end of the project, more communities will be able to provide evidence-
based approaches to CBDTR services that Filipino PWUDs and their families can access without fear or prejudice.
Position Overview :
The Technical Lead CBDR will lead the overall design and implementation of innovative drug demand services delivered through community-based platforms.
Job Description :
Under the management of the COP, lead the design and implementation of innovative drug demand services delivered through facility and community-based platforms.
Work with DOH and other partners to develop a cadre of trainers
Work with Capacity Development Specialist on developing substance abuse training modules for outpatient clinic and community-based workers
Work with DOH, DoEd and other stakeholders to strengthen linkages for wrap around services for people completing voluntary drug treatment programs.
Conduct periodic assessments of quality of CBDTR services offered at community and facility settings. Based on the findings ensure, that patient-
centered services are enhanced at all levels.
Provide technical leadership for CBDTR services expansion.
Required Experience & Qualifications :
Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in health, law, political science, international relations, social sciences or related field.
Demonstrated competency and experience in methods of addiction treatment and aftercare.
Demonstrated competency and experience networking with international, national and local agencies relevant to addiction service delivery.
At least 7 years of experience in public health programs.
Full-time commitment to the project, a must.
