Job Description : OVERVIEW :
The Architect is accountable for developing the technology and information vision, strategy and architecture to support a specific technology discipline, ensuring that the architecture meets Company business and enterprise technology strategy and architecture requirements.
The Architect manages the overall development and implementation plan for architecture components and services. This role covers architecture aspects of technical and functional spaces, including but not limited to master data management, ETL, information analytics, Big Data, business intelligence, and metadata management.
Develops technical strategies by actively leading and / or participating on results-focused Domain Teams.
Performs Architecture Assurance Reviews, governance and standards to support technology strategy focusing on application integration, performance, and new technologies
Participates as needed in application architecture assessments and reviews.
Identify risks, opportunities, compliance issues or other architectural concerns.
Analyzes and resolves architecture related issues and problems e.g. performance, integration, maintainability, etc.
Leads analysis of complex production support issues that are related to respective Discipline.
Actively supports scalability, skills transfer and organizational change management by ensuring Domain Team members are rotated to promote cross-
training and professional development.
Ability to benchmark systems, analyze system bottlenecks and propose solutions to eliminate them.
Ability to implement and document use cases, solutions and recommendations
Defines policy and governance to ensure consistency and integrity on the defined Big Data Architecture
Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture and Solution Architects to adopt leading practices and shape solutions
8-15 years experience in IT delivery and architecture, of which at least 3-5 years as an Architect and 3-5 years in IT Delivery as a Program Manager, and at least 3-
5 years of relevant Discipline experience
Minimum of 10 years experience in business analysis, IT planning and design with a cohesive vision of key business challenges
Competent in data warehousing, database administration, data platform integration, data flow design and data mapping
Ability to work in environments with competing and alternating priorities and a constant focus on delivery
Competent in information systems design, information insight generation, information visualization, data warehousing, and data mining.
Proven track record in translating organizational strategy into actionable solutions that drive operational excellence
Experience in big data hadoop solutions (HDFS, Hbase, Hive, Pig, Map Reduce, Spark, Kafka, Sentry, Flume, Zookeeper, YARN, Sqoop, SQL and related technologies
Experience in using Unix / Linux shell Scripting, Informatica, Talend, DataStage and similar platforms
Experience integrating multiple Big Data solutions and legacy database systems
Experience in platform administration, performance tuning, data integration, database administration, metadata management
Understanding of security, network and hardware platforms including mainframes, distributed platforms, cloud and virtualization, desktops and mobile devices
Experience in telco preferred;
