Job Description
The Technical Director (TD) will ensure the quality of the technical content produced by the team and bridge the gap between design and code to build a solid product.
As a TD, you will help to define tools, pipelines and best practices that will allow the Design Team to create the best gameplay experience.
Define the teams technical needs to carry out the creative vision (design and artistic) by validating the game features and challenging the interpretation to assess technical feasibility
Acquire and test the best tools that will enhance and facilitate the work of the team
Prototype the technological elements of the tool before they are deployed on the project
Establish the best work methods and data structure to standardize work methods and ensure the validity and integrity of the data by drafting pipeline documents, setting out a common classification system, trainings, coaching and supervising processes users
Remain informed of new technical and technological developments and apply these developments to the project whenever relevant and share the project's developments with peers
Communicate the technical constraints and their rationales to the level design team on a regular basis
Provide constant technical support on the tools and engines for every member of the level design team
Supervise the design, integration, and validation of the maps in the engine
Create, organize, and conduct training sessions for all members of the design team so that they are able to make proper use of the tools and methods
Be the point of contact between the level design and programming teams
Train and groom the technical level design team
