Essential Functions & Physical Requirements

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DESIRABLES :

The Project Houseperson works on the maintenance of different areas of hotel by fulfilling various cleaning projects, including the cleaning of guest room’s furniture, carpets throughout the hotel.

To organize and maintain weekly and monthly housekeeping inventory supplies. Upkeep of designated sections - fulfills guest requests in an orderly and timely manner, and assist with linen collection and distribution of linen and terry as needed.

  • Thoroughly cleans carpets, furniture, and / or floors with designated cleaning agents, adheres to cleaning procedures and instructions for use of cleaning products.
  • Thoroughly cleans sinks, toilets, urinals, mirrors, tiles, counters, walls, stalls, vents, and / or floors in designated CARE guest rooms with designated cleaning agents, adheres to cleaning procedures and instructions for use of cleaning products.
  • Thoroughly dust all furniture, pictures, and shelves, extending arms over head, bending and stooping as needed.
  • Thoroughly cleans and polishes all metal surfaces, by adhering to cleaning procedures and instructions for use of cleaning products and machinery.
  • Performing weekly and monthly inventory of all housekeeping supplies throughout the designated housekeeping storage rooms and reporting them to the Director of Housekeeping.
  • Reports maintenance work tickets according to procedures.
  • Attends and participates in the 10 minutes pre-shift meeting briefings.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

    Ability to extend arms, scrub, bend, stoop, stand and walk public spaces for extended periods of time.

    The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and color vision.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT :

    Ability to understand and follow directions, and perform job functions under limited supervision.

    Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, employees are required to work varying schedules to accommodate the business and demands of the hotel.

    Regular attendance and punctuality in conformance with the normal standards and policy of the hotels.

    The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions so must be able to withstand all weather conditions.

    The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

    Qualifications and Desirables

    EDUCATIONAL AND REQUIRED SKILLS :

    Previous luxury hotel Housekeeping work experience preferred.

    Job knowledge, skill and ability :

    Knowledge of chemical cleaning products and proper application.

    Knowledge of proper operation of various cleaning equipment and machinery.

    Ability to understand and follow directions, and perform job functions under limited supervision.

    Previous luxury hotel Housekeeping work experience preferred.

    Basic ability to comprehend English language sufficient to understand and respond to guest’s requests, and to follow instructions.

    Language skills :

    Basic ability to comprehend English language sufficient to understand and respond to guest’s requests, and to follow instructions.

    Mathematical skills :

    Must have the ability to read basic Housekeeping Reports.
