Purpose : Support the successful execution of the AMI project via ensuring effective quality control in all aspects of product configuration, material preparation, production, and delivery of all required metering and AMI communication hardware.
The QA Technicians / Engineers shall ensure that all customer CTQs are met for all AMP hardware deliverables, monitor quality process performance, identify issues and develop improvements.
The QA Technicians / Engineers will also be monitoring and overseeing RMAs, evaluation and corrective / repair works on Aclara and Partner hardware product returns.
Essential Functions :
Apply technical knowledge to identify root cause of failures.
Perform product validation testing based upon written procedures including full report documentation for all tests.
Implement in-process quality checks and tests on critical manufacturing equipment
Assist in the development of new test procedures and protocols as necessary to validate product and / or system performance.
Fabricate and troubleshoot test equipment and returned product.
Troubleshoot and repair laboratory equipment as needed.
Maintain accurate and complete test records.
Conducts evaluation of in-process non-conforming products and repair as necessary in coordination with Materials / Production Planning and Support Staff.
Evaluates, repairs and document customer returns in coordination with Marketing and Materials / Production Planning and Support Staff.
Conducts testing, verification and documentation on all measuring instruments and test equipment in accordance with documented ISO 9001 procedures and work instructions
Additional Responsibilities :
Develop and maintain software for programmable instruments and test setups where applicable.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities :
Minimum Associate’s technical degree; a graduate of Electronics / Computer / Electrical Engineering is preferred
At least five (5) years working within the electronics industry performing technician tasks for persons with associates or higher level degree, or at least ten (10) years working within electronics industry performing technician tasks for persons with training certification.
Intermediate knowledge of standard and advanced engineering test equipment such as, oscilloscope, digital multi-meter, Power Quality Analyzer and various computer-operated test equipment.
Experience performing reliability / life environmental testing.
Intermediate working knowledge with Microsoft Office and other related software utilizing a Windows platform.
Proven self-starter capable of working in a team environment to accomplish departmental objectives.
Responsibility of Equipment or Process :
Read and understand assembly drawing and schematics.
Physical Demands :
Travel via air or land up to 25%
