The Role

The Materials Scheduling Team Lead Packaging and 3P is responsible for the management of component supply and inventory throughout the North America region.

In addition to managing components supply, this role will also be responsible for the daily pack finished goods planning for the North American Third Party (3P) plants including responsibility to meet inventory targets and deliver against customer experience metrics.

This piece will be key as Shell continues to have stretch targets around inventory in the network (and the amount of Working Capital $$ used for this) and will be a key focus area for 2021+.

This includes managing a team of 10 direct reports supporting both the component and Third Party Team functions, who will use a planning system (DDMRP) to help guide them to come up with the daily production quantities and component requirements at an individual SKU level for each plant.

This system will also be a driving factor in setting inventory targets across the network and will prompt deployment between Shell sites daily.

Learning this system and then being able to coach the team will be a critical success factor in this role.

This role will also engage frequently with customer ops and sales colleagues on any issues the customers have around product availability.

Being able to determine the root cause of problems and then addressing the issues in real time will be a necessary skill on top of making sure the person in this role always has a customer centric mentality.

On the packaging components side, the Materials Scheduling Team Lead is accountable to identify areas of risk and opportunity and drive continuous improvement within the team.

This role will also work closely with the Materials Planning Team in Houston to support master data accuracy, vendor and supplier relationships, and overall inventory strategy for the raw material portfolio.
