  • Undertake a development role, contributing to cost and commercial tasks, developing cost and commercial skills
  • Work in a supporting capacity on any project suited to their learning and development needs
  • Learn how to apply theoretical skills from their education within an office and project environment
  • Key Accountabilities :

  • Develop awareness of the contribution that GEC teams make in the overall delivery of tasks and the projects within Arcadis
  • Work as a resource to support the successful delivery of specific outputs as part of a team to meet Arcadis requirements
  • Undertake document management including drawing registers, hard copy and electronic drawing filing and document issuing (including online collaboration sites)
  • Check own work including undertaking mathematical checks ahead of production checking
  • Successfully complete assigned cost and commercial tasks within allotted time frames
  • Carry out tasks, such as research and collation of cost data and other information to support sound cost and commercial management of projects, benchmarking and cost database
  • Prepare basic documents, presentations and other materials to a clear brief, using established formats and standard software -
  • this may include collecting data and undertaking basic analysis to contribute to internal decision-making

  • Provide feedback on existing cost and commercial management processes to contribute to the improvement of processes and systems
  • Resolve operational day-to-day queries and requests on a number of assignments, ensuring an efficient and high-quality service is extended to internal stakeholders
  • Attend Arcadis knowledge sharing activities
  • Work with a Buddy Mentor (AQS or QS) to develop technical excellence under the GEC C&CM Training Academy and the GEC accredited APC Training Program provider

    Knowledge & Experience :

  • Possess (and develop) some of the skills and experience needed to support the internal team on small less complex projects
  • Developing awareness of Arcadis Integrated Management System requirements
  • Developing proficiency in relevant desktop applications
  • Becoming familiar with computer software as a tool for solving cost and commercial management problems
  • Good communication skills and ability to liaise with peers and immediate seniors
  • Commercial awareness and a developing organizational understanding
  • A logical approach and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Ability to manage own time in accordance to a broad schedule x Proficiency with desktop applications (e.g. MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Proficiency in using common and straightforward cost and commercial management software and systems
  • Qualifications :

  • BSc Eng, Diploma in QS or equivalent in a relevant discipline
  • Up to one year of professional experience in consultancy or contracting
