Position Description

We currently have an opening for a Compliance & Ethics Senior Advisory & Monitoring Specialist . This position can be staffed in the Southeast or Midwest, with a strong preference for a location near a McKesson hub.

This role will report to the Director, Compliance, Audit and Monitoring. The Senior Specialist will act as a subject matter expert on operationalizing compliance programs to mitigate antitrust and consumer compliance risks.

The Senior Specialist will conduct advisory work on McKesson’s antitrust and consumer compliance controls and compliance program in multiple areas including advising on policies, procedures, training, communications, and controls.

This role will develop and execute monitoring and auditing programs within established methodologies, and will drive and formally document all monitoring and audit testwork performed.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience in healthcare compliance, antitrust and consumer compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on controls and compliance programs to mitigate antitrust and consumer compliance risks.
  • Advise other McKesson function on approaches for antitrust and consumer compliance programs, including but not limited to controls, policies, training, monitoring, and auditing.
  • Provide assistance with programmatic builds, as needed.

  • Lead compliance audits and monitoring based upon a comprehensive understanding of the company’s risk profile and compliance control framework, with particular focus on antitrust and consumer compliance risks.
  • Plan, execute, deliver, and effectively collaborate on integrated audits and process assessments with other functions, such as Legal, Internal Audit, Quality, etc.
  • Develop formal written reports to communicate monitoring and audit findings to management, assess root cause, and make recommendations on corrective and preventative actions as appropriate.
  • Facilitate obtaining corrective action plans for issues noted as needed.
  • Ensure that audit issues, associated root causes, and corrective action plans are understood, well-defined, documented / tracked, and presented to Compliance and business unit management
  • Lead post engagement issue follow up and resolution.
  • Utilize problem solving skills to add value to areas audited.
  • Assists in the preparation of reporting to senior management.
  • Assists in the preparation of and provide subject matter expertise to risk assessments / audit plans related to anti-trust and consumer compliance areas and understands the specific issues to be evaluated.
  • Support other department initiatives and deliverables as needed.
  • Exercise professional judgment and propose value-added solutions in all aspects of engagement execution.
  • Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 4-7 years experience in healthcare, anti-trust and consumer compliance either with a government agency, law firm, or Fortune 50 company
  • Critical Skills

  • Experience operationalizing requirements in areas to mitigate anti-trust and consumer compliance risks such as implementing controls, policies, procedures, training, monitoring and auditing
  • Strong knowledge of anti-trust and consumer compliance laws and regulations and of the anti-trust risks in the healthcare industry
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare industry standards and best practices for effective compliance programs
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to express an independent viewpoint
  • Business process analysis skills in a manufacturing and / or healthcare services setting
  • Must have excellent data analysis and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills as well as problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to build and foster relationships with compliance and regulatory professional throughout the organization
  • Additional Knowledge & Skills

  • Understanding of compliance program elements and healthcare regulatory obligations
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Previous experience managing and driving extion of projects collaboratively in a highly matrixed environment.
  • 4-7 years of audit experience, preferably with an accounting, law firm, consulting firm, government agency, or medical device / pharma company
  • Education

  • An outstanding record of academic achievement, including an undergraduate degree (required). A law degree and / or masters’ degree are preferred.
  • Relevant Compliance Certifications or Licensure Preferable
