A Hybrid working model

The Role :

The Head of Post-Production Operations role in Manila is a pivotal senior role for our global Broadcast operations at Hogarth.

This role has a primary focus on operational excellence ensuring work is produced consistently in the best way possible to the highest standards.

In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering innovation, optimisation, and continuous improvement while being accountable for the recruitment, management, and development of a team of subject matter experts working to clear KPIs.

The successful candidate will act as the face of the Manila Post-Production team for all of our global Hogarth production teams.

The key attributes of a senior leader in this role include solid subject matter expertise, an entrepreneurial and solutions-orientated mindset, a passion to explore opportunities to innovate and optimise with a particular focus on automation and agile ways of working, accountability for all the Post-Production GDC operations, proactive risk identification and mitigation, excellent communication and management skills, and a future planning outlook.

This role reports to the Operations Director of the Manila GDC.

Responsibilities :

  • Key operational responsibility of the broadcast team at the Manila GDC, including adherence to KPIs for the below priorities : Staff Cost RatioQualityUtilisationProductivitySourcing
  • The Head of Post-Production Operations Manila will be responsible for establishing, developing, and maintaining a world-class 24 hours a day, 5 days a week Post-Production operation that is geared to servicing Hogarth’s global teams.
  • Primary responsibilities will be working closely with the various broadcast team leaders to lead, co-ordinate and line manage the various teams of operators.
  • These include Editors, Media Transfer Operators, Motion Graphics and VFX Staff, Audio Engineers, and Booking coordinators.

  • Hire, train, and manage all Post-Production production staff
  • Oversee budgeting, planning, and resource allocation of all projects
  • Oversee studio activity
  • Ensuring producers and schedulers are working together to assign appropriate talent
  • Financial and technical oversight of all productions
  • Ensuring all production activities are on-time and on-budget
  • Implement processes that assure that all projects are delivered with flawless execution and attention to detail
  • Act as the escalation point for post-production issues and implement positive conflict resolution techniques
  • Ensure efficient utilization and cross utilisation of resources and anticipate and plan solutions to potential challenges with staffing and resource availability across projects.
  • Act as the main point of contact in recruiting post-production talent
  • Create / maintain strategic relationships with external post-production facilities for overflow
  • Career development, performance evaluation, performance management, mentoring, and implementation of succession planning for all direct reports
  • Collaborate with account and client teams to ensure creative productions meet client expectations and remain on-brand message
  • Ongoing review of Post-Production process and practices with an eye toward enhancing profitability and increasing effectiveness including a key focus on innovation and automation
  • Identify, support, and drive automation opportunities to minimize manual workflows
  • Establish relationships with global stakeholders in an effort to drive collaboration
  • Solve production and technical issues with the production and technical support team
  • Identify revenue opportunities on existing client business and participate in new business development activities
  • Collaborate with Finance to ensure our Post-Production operations are operating to optimum profit
  • Career development, performance evaluation, performance management, mentoring, and implementation of succession planning for all direct reports
  • Contribute to Hogarth Worldwide Manila office agency culture by exhibiting ownership, professionalism, passion, and leading by example
  • Requirements :

  • Exceptional English language competency both written and spoken
  • 10+ years of an agency / Post-Production studio and post-production experience
  • Related college degree
  • Proven ability to manage an offshore post-production facility
  • Experience working in a fast-paced studio environment supporting multiple client workstreams
  • Familiar with the challenges of producing content for advertising purposes
  • In-depth understanding of the post-production process including budgeting, editing visual effects, color correction, and sound production (including broadcast video production)
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, and strong knowledge and understanding of key production tools such as Adobe Premiere and After Effects while being familiar with Autodesk Flame, Nuke, Davinci Resolve, and Avid Protools would also be beneficial.
  • Expertise in broadcast technologies and ability to expand usage to meet innovation and automation KPIs
  • Proven track record of leading innovation and automation enhancements in this space
  • Strong line manager with the ability to hire, retain, and develop staff
  • Thorough understanding of post-production business model, ability to create accurate time of staff estimates, and manage budgets to client / agency expectations
  • Must be commercially astute and able to work in a fast-paced, fluid environment
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skill set to influence the direction and attainment of objectives
  • Experience with complex decision and planning processes
  • Ability to present, teach, coach, and mentor colleagues
  • Ability to conduct presentations comfortably to large groups
  • Effective communicator with all levels of the organization
