Our Global Service Centers (GSCs) are strategically positioned inMumbai, Bangalore and Hyderabad to support the firm’s operations.

This position is responsible for theprocessing of Equities / Fixed Interest income functions for the DCC Melbourne& NZ teams.

The role will involve providing clientswith a full end to end Equities / Fixed Interest Service with the main functionsbeing :

  • Research & Announcement of all corporate actions events relevant toour client base;
  • Record Date balancing and reconciliation
  • Disbursement of all payments of cash to clients
  • Liaison with Client Services on client inquiries and offshore team forresolution of reconciliation breaks
  • Thevarious functions performed by the team require the management and staff to befamiliar with how the Australian Equities & Fixed Interest market operatesand this includes a strong understanding of key systems.

    The position is alsoexpected to keep abreast of market changes to be able to assess the impact ofany changes on the processing of Equities and Fixed Income corporate actionsevents.

  • Ensure market and internal client deadlines are met.
  • Play a leading role in the resolution of client impacting system and market issues
  • Stringent control procedures are adhered to and exceptions are escalated to Risk Management in line with agreed standards
  • Assist with projects and new initiatives as and when required by the business.
  • Leverageand maintain appropriate contacts with operational peers onshore.
  • Ensure any errors are documented and escalated, withworked through action plans to minimise the reoccurrence and any risk to JPM.
  • In addition the role is also expected to protect the clients’ and Banks’interests at all times and ensure that their integrity is maintained within themarket place.

    To ensure department procedures are maintained and internalprocesses can adapt to market / client demands. To maintain optimum service levelfor all clients ensuring any reasons for and proposed solutions to, negativetrends are documented and escalated.

    The Specialist will need to have a strong understanding of Australian& NZ Custody Market.

    A goodknowledge of the functions in the BaNCS platform will need to be attained.

    Key Accountabilities / MajorResponsibilities :

    1. Audit & Compliance

  • Ensure all relevant standard operating procedure are kept up to date andthat they comply with audit requirements.
  • Be involved in the monthly self-department audits in preparation of RiskManagement and Audit reviews, ensuring that all processes are being completedin accordance with the department SOP’s and controls.
  • Any variance should beresolved, escalated and documentation completed and copied to management.

  • Additional processing and exceptional requirements not already approvedby Risk Management are to be reviewed, re-modelled as required, procedures tobe written around the process and submitted to all parties concerned includingRisk Management for sign-off.
  • Review audit comments and ensure that any unfavorable audit points areaddressed immediately to ensure compliance with future audit reviews.
  • 2 . Operational

  • Escalate issues to the manager and be involved in taking action toescalate and resolve with the other party. A review is to be done on the issueto ensure procedures are updated.
  • Investigate and when applicable, assist in implementing new proceduresor systems that enhance the overall service of the group.
  • Ensure all work received is actioned, accounted for and all controlprocedures are adhered to. Issues raised must be either resolved or escalatedif necessary.
  • To be involved in the resolution of outstanding issues, to makedecisions based on precedent and experience when confronted with frequentlyconflicting priorities.
  • Where necessary, liaise with other areas to agree asatisfactory conclusion, ensuring minimum impact to Investor Services

    3. Reporting

  • Be involved in the review of workflows, review reporting of all KRI’s,STEP rates and other MIS statistics required by management.
  • Assist in tracking trends in work volumes, including reconciliationerrors and document any negative trends and proposed solutions.

  • Understanding of CustodyBusiness and Operations
  • Thoroughknowledge of the Australian & NZ Financial Market is a plus
  • Ability to demonstrate goodcollaboration with peers
  • Exposureto, and clear understanding of, the end to end equities & fixed incomeprocess, as it applies in custody
  • Ability to manage allstakeholders both internal and external
  • 1+ years’ experiencein Custody Operations
  • Tertiary qualification inbusiness or related field preferred
