Internally known as Fin Rep & Analysis Analyst 2
The Financial Accountant, internally known as Finance Representative & Analysis Analyst is responsible for change management which includes project planning and execution (upgrades, new functionality and migrations from other systems) and ticket resolution.
Operational support includes partnering with technology, business stakeholders, and users across all applications used within SOA;
input and maintenance of static data and training of system users. The team performs daily production support for SIMCORP and Wall Street.
Update and maintain static data within SIMCORP and Wall Street on a timely basis.
The Financial Accountant is responsible for providing product support for various investment portfolio, funding, long term debt and trading products that reside in multiple system applications.
This requires an understanding of these products to make decisions as to how certain instruments are built and maintained, and the maintenance of various static data includes portfolio data, security data, accounting data, coupon rates, factors, and bank account data.
Successful candidate will work directly with a variety of individuals including front office traders, middle office trade clearance personnel and accountants within the SOA team.
The position requires a great attention to detail and must ensure time sensitive maintenance is performed accurately.
Plans, coordinates, distributes and monitors daily securities production work. This includes fielding and completing requests for maintenance of static data for SimCorp and WallStreet
Systems and completion of static data maintenance checklist activities.
Responsible for maintenance of static data new builds. This includes the setup and maintenance onf new and / or changes in portfolio, ledger, settlement rules, custodian, closing book rules, and client tax information within the financial tool.
Research and corrections of daily failed Bloomberg uploads to SIMCORP.
Reconciles and resolves payment amount differences for Wells Fargo-owned securities (driven by coupon rates, setup, etc.
between SIMCORP, WallStreet, and Bloomberg.
Ensure that cusips are built in SIMCORP for successful trading on a given day by reconciling Activity Report for Collateral Movement and SIMCORP.
Monitors static data breaks appearing on exception reports including missing coupons, missing factors.
Obtain corresponding Legal Governing Documents (LGD) for all entries in the inventory listing, and as needed, update the security master data spreadsheet and security master editor for SIMCORP and / or WSS.
Producing ad hoc queries and reports to assist in business analysis and project execution.
Participating in status meetings / calls, project planning and verbal and written updates.
Market Skills and Certifications
Essential Qualifications :
Must be a graduate of accounting or any accounting related programs. CPA License is required.
1-2+ years of financial services operations background with demonstrated knowledge of operational functions and general industry practices.
Experience in working on US financial services and knowledgeable in US Regulatory Reporting.
Relevant years of reporting experience, analytics experience, or a combination of both.
Experience in Bloomberg, Wallstreet Suite, and SimCorp Dimension is a plus.
Knowledgeable in accounting for capital markets operations (trade settlement standards, custody operations, portfolio management strategies).
Excellent problem solving, analytical and technical skills with ability to apply critical judgment and come up with effective decisions.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and proficiency for detailed documentation with ability to validate work.
High proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ability to maximize use of formulas and functions to streamline reporting needs.
Ability to adapt to a fast paced environment and perform under pressure with a high motivation and able to meet stringent deadlines with strong sense of urgency and results and detail orientation.
Ability to plan, prioritize and execute a body of work with minimal supervision.
Exceptional research and exception handling skills.
Flexibility to work in night shifts, or weekends / holidays if deemed necessary by the business.
