The Credit Portfolio Senior Manager is a senior management-level position responsible for accomplishing results through :
Managing a team of credit analysts providing coverage to bank and non-bank FI (NBFI) obligors across a geographic cluster in Asia
Leading, managing, developing and training the members of the unit so as to produce high quality analysis. Training should encompass industry, policy, product and credit and ensure teams understand key processes, policies and principles, quality of output and consistency of standards and analysis.
Ensuring timely delivery of quality and accurate risk assessments and credit analysis which includes industry / peer analysis and annual reviews, interim reports, classified credit reports, etc.
This includes reviewing output from the team to ensure accuracy, reliability and overall quality.
Proactively driving CA processes and workload.
Ensuring effective coordination with the Country Business Units and FIRM Credit Officers and establish strong working partnerships with the Business / CRMs through regular, periodic calls.
Ensuring timely and correct classification of FI obligors through close periodic monitoring of financial and operating performance as well as industry and market developments affecting the sector.
Working closely with Credit Officers to establish and maintain appropriate portfolio standards for FI obligors across Asia
Providing portfolio reports which tracks portfolio distribution and composition, portfolio quality, risk concentrations, stress testing, etc as needed.
Leading assigned / ad hoc projects in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and that deliverables are met.
Proven leadership and organizational capabilities
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with fluency in English.
At least 8 years of experience in credit research and analysis, preferably gained at financial institutions or public rating agencies.
Experience / exposure in asset management, markets, product control are an advantage but not required.
Graduate of Business-related courses, preferably Economics, Accounting or Finance; Post-graduate in Business, Finance or Accounting or FRM / CPA / CFA professional qualifications an advantage.
A passionate interest in finance and strong analytical, research, and organizational skills are required. Familiarity with risk management & systems is a plus.
Highly attentive to details, while being able to work under pressure and deliver timely and accurate results.
Strong quantitative skills (Microsoft Excel). MS Access / VBA skills are an advantage but not required
Bachelor's degree / University degree or equivalent experience
Master's degree preferred
