Job Summary : As an Independence Senior, you'll be instrumental in safeguarding the independence compliance with auditor independence rules and regulations required by external regulators and professional standards, as well as, independence and related rules applicable to all Ernst and Young member firms.

Key responsibilities : Your day to day responsibilities will be varied and cover a broad spectrum of the activities undertaken by the Independence function expected of a Senior Associate, including the following : - Demonstrate technical knowledge in SEC, PCAOB and IESBA auditor independence rules, and EY Global and country independence policies to support client-serving teams;
Consult with partners and staff on auditor independence issues related to both personal and firm-related independence matters;
Provide guidance to client-serving teams in the completion of client and engagement acceptance and other periodic independence procedures;
Perform various processes and controls implemented to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and various policies- Manage and participate in independence monitoring programs and other process improvement initiatives;
Gather data necessary to assess and monitor policy compliance- Build relationships with Independence team members in other network firms through consultations;
Assist with preparation for, and coordination of, practice inspections by external regulators and Internal Audit team;- Promote and demonstrate commitment to audit quality, risk management and independence processes and policies within the firm;
Develop and deliver risk management and independence training courses and presentations;- Liaise with professionals within the firm and network firm, as necessary, to gather data or consult;

Working knowledge of the following activities and processes : - Interpretation and application of policies to address consultations and assess compliance- Data analysis and monitoring- Due diligence- Business process analysis- Facilitating learning sessions (online / physical)- Proficiency in MS office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)To qualify, candidates must have : - Individuals with compliance / audit / assurance or other relevant professional experience- Graduate of Bachelor's / College Degree in Business Studies / Administration / Management / Internal Audit or equivalent- Working knowledge of the following activities and processes : Data Monitoring, Facilitating learning sessions (online / physical)- 3-6 years of experience in a similar role- Non-CPAs are welcome
