Medical Science Liaison (MSL) Manager (diabetes) is responsible for the day-to-day operational oversight of MSL team and is involved in local strategic planning and execution of Sanofi corporate and brand medical strategies.

He / She is also accountable for leading, coaching and managing MSL resources.

The MSL Manager should be able to demonstrate on-going scientific and business expertise relevant to the Sanofi portfolio, serve as role model in fostering personal accountability and ownership of individual and team success.

Effectively manage the plan, activities and performance of the MSL Team :

  • Ensure alignment of MSL plans with Brand Medical Strategy and implements its strategy and objectives across the portfolio or therapeutic area to execute at a national level across prioritized customer segments in support of relevant outcomes.
  • Drive customer insight collection and communicates actionable items to Medical Affairs Leadership and other internal stakeholders, as appropriate.
  • Manage MSL Team overall performance including objective setting, monitoring and evaluation for in-field activities including collecting input from Medical Affairs Manager.
  • Supervise MSL Team area / territory management including the identification, prioritization management of KOLs within their respective territory.
  • Oversees compliance with all local regulatory requirements and Sanofi Local and Global Policies and Guidelines.
  • Manages and oversees team financial resources
  • Ensure appropriate Training and Professional Development needs of the MSL team are addressed :

  • Responsible for recruiting and on-boarding, performance management and career development in alignment with Medical Affairs guidance.
  • Facilitate scientific and skill training, as well as mentoring and coaching to support professional development.
  • Support the development of MSL capabilities :
  • Evidence Generations : Supporting medical gap identifications and clinical study conduct.
  • Scientific Exchange : Scientific expertise and capabilities for scientific exchange.
  • Stakeholders Engagement : Customer insight collection and dissemination, strategic relationships with medical and scientific experts.
  • Maintains qualitative and quantitative metrics that include standard MSL core requirements, including required certification(s).
  • Providing regular coaching and training to MSL Team during join visit in field activities

    Lead MSL Project Management :

  • Contribute as a member on internal project teams representing Field Medical Affairs and customer perspectives
  • Lead or co-lead any assigned regional or global MSL project management as local field medical representative by working closely with Local / Regional Medical Operations team and Local / Regional Medical Affairs Manager / TA Lead.
  • Together with Medical Operations, to ensure standardized process in conduct of field activities and objective setting, tracking and evaluation across Therapeutic Areas.
  • INTERNAL SUPPORT AND COLLABORATION

  • Support training of commercial teams as necessaryImproved scientific knowledge in commercial team
  • QUALIFICATIONS

  • Medical Doctor
  • At least two (2) years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry as Field Medical personnel
  • Experienced in developing and / or executing medico-marketing strategy
  • Preferably with experience in people management and development
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including communicating complex technical, scientific, or medical information to broad audience types
  • Strong leadership capabilities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
