    About the Role

    Internally known as Business Support Manager 1. Manages, directly and through subordinates, operational activities for a large single functional unit or multiple sections.

    Directs nonexempt staff or a small entry-level exempt staff. Works independently on moderately complex issues and projects.

    Manages ongoing processing efforts and is accountable to manager for unit budget.

    The Business Support Manager, manages a team who leads diverse support functions and / or operations / production oversight for 1-2 units / departments within a business group.

    Responsibilities

    Functions managed may include : policy / procedure administration and adherence, systems / change initiatives, business continuity planning, legal and regulatory adherence, SLA negotiation / development, reporting and analysis, project funding, pipeline, process improvement, quality management, MBO development, communications, financial control / budgeting oversight (example : monitoring business expenses) and / or team member processing (example : planning focal review).

    Presents to mid-level managers on business performance and recommends strategies to implement changes and improvements. May support strategic initiatives for the business.

    Generally has full management responsibility

    Managing moderately complex to complex content in OpenText within established publishing guidelines.

    Providing guidance to less experience team members.

    Adding revision histories and all cross references in content.

    Channeling and versioning content.

    Following the Service Level Agreement (SLA) over a team that includes lower-level individual contributors.

    Market Skills and Certifications

    Qualifications :

    Graduate of a Bachelor's Degree; preferably in a communication focused field such as English, Communications or journalism

    2+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following : administrative support management, project management, business operations or strategic planning

    1+ years of leadership experience

    Experience researching and preparing written communications
