ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT

  • To identify, develop and convert opportunities / accounts into the actual business. Opportunities targeted are focused on a specific business unit they are assigned to by the National Sales Manager
  • To oversee the development and implementation of new customer operational requirements where necessary.
  • To ensure that personal knowledge of all relevant Kuehne + Nagel products and / or services is up to date at all times.
  • To ensure that you have ongoing productive contact with customers through the implementation period.
  • To provide feedback and learning to the National Sales Manager to ensure that KN has the information to regularly test and improve future activities.
  • To act as support between own clients portfolio and / or assigned accounts and the Business Unit to ensure satisfactory service levels are maintained
  • Feedback from team members, managers & customers. Operational requirements of key customers are met.
  • Level of personal knowledge.
  • Feedback from customers on the use of most appropriate
  • products and / or services.

  • Relevant feedback to the National Sales Manager
  • SALES AND CUSTOMER SERVICE

  • To maintain budgeted revenue and profit growth through the proactive acquisition of customers.
  • To meet and exceed targets as predefined in the National Sales Incentive Scheme
  • To actively pursue sales leads (both with new and current customers).
  • To actively identify and pursue new sales opportunities.
  • Evidence of increased sales
  • Revenue meets or exceeds annual targets
  • Evidence of proactive action on qualified sales leads
  • New customer acquisition information
  • Successful customer implementation
  • New Customer acquisitions across the product range
  • To provide continuous feedback on market rates and conditions to Product
  • To oversee initial customer implementation processes until established.
  • To meet and preferably, exceed annual revenue and sales targets across the entire product range of Kuehne + Nagel which includes air and sea freight imports & exports, customs clearance, marine insurance and contract logistics.
  • To meet Kuehne Nagel sales calls standards and ensure that calls are set up with company decision makers.
  • To maintain a call schedule with current key customers as agreed with the National Sales Manager.
  • To develop and deliver sales proposals and product / services presentations.
  • To identify and implement new products and growth opportunities.
  • To provide the National Sales Manager with relevant, quantified and clear information relating to the market activity.
  • To focus on developing and consolidating personal knowledge of individual customers and industries.
  • To complete all calls as per call schedule (30 per month) and complete 3 sales lead per month.
  • Evidence of existing key customers visited quarterly as a minimum. Sales proposals are developed as required.
  • Growth opportunities identified and acted on.
  • Market activity information is provided in a timely fashion and meets the requirements of the senior management team.
  • Evidence of application of specialized personal knowledge to grow a portfolio
  • To complete all other allocated tasks as required.
  • ADMINISTRATION

  • To maintain all details of client visits in CoreLog (Sales system) ensure data quality standards are achieved and maintained.
  • To complete credit applications in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • To work in cooperation with the Finance Department to ensure appropriate management of debtors when they fall in allocated customer portfolio (i.e. debt collection)
  • To ensure that all locally required reports are completed within required deadlines.
  • CoreLog details entered in a timely manner.
  • CoreLog data quality reports.
  • Credit Applications are accurate and provided within policy and procedure.
  • Creditor information
  • Evidence of speedy and appropriate debt collection
  • Reporting requirements are met at all times.
  • A budget developed and implemented within agreed timeframes.
  • Budget updated during the year as required.
  • No breach of delegated authority.
  • CUSTOMER SERVICE

  • To liaise with Customers directly as required
  • To act in a professional manner at all times with customers
  • To manage customer complaints in a manner that provides explanations and puts a customer at ease
  • Take appropriate corrective action and / or notify the relevant person and office to prevent a re-occurrence of customer complaints.
  • Customer feedback is positive
  • Manager observations of professionalism
  • Evidence of proactive and appropriate complaint management
  • Corrective actions in place as a result of complaints
  • QUALITY, SAFETY, HEALTH, AND ENVIRONMENT (QSHE)

  • To observe all company quality requirements at all times.
  • To be aware of the responsibilities of managers in relation to QSHE
  • To follow all procedures and reporting requirements in relation to the company QSHE policies and working instructions.
  • To actively participate in QSHE committees if appointed as an employer representative.
  • To address QSHE issues raised by the team in a timely fashion.
  • Your skills and experience

  • Minimum 5 years experience in sales in freight
  • forwarding industry, preferably Multinational.

  • People Management and interpersonal skills
  • Primarily Air and Sea Operational knowledge
  • High level of competency with all aspects of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Sales within Japan Trade Lane role, in a fast paced environment
  • Local market Experience
  • Current Drivers License
  • Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years experience in sales in freight
