Overview
DreamHost is looking for a Software Developer II who is interested in expanding their skills to support our continued growth.
You’ll have the opportunity to directly impact our customers and their websites’ success by launching new features and improvements to our platform.
This role is open to both front-end and back-end developers, as we’re looking to expand our newer React applications powered by both Typescript and Python microservices.
You’ll be able to learn and contribute to many parts of the development lifecycle, at a company that has over 25 years of experience building on the web.
Responsibilities
Code, test, and debug production-level software to meet project goals and stakeholder requirements
Perform code reviews and assist other team members on project deliverables
Provide estimates for assigned tasks and small projects
Troubleshoot and fix bugs
Be an active participant in planning, standup, and retrospective meetings
Collaborate on cross-functional project teams to solve customer problems
BS / MS in Computer Science or relevant field preferred
2+ years of experience working with complex, scalable, and secure web applications
Working experience in at least one language (JavaScript, TypeScript, Perl, or Python)
Working experience with object-oriented programming
Working experience with Git platforms and workflows
Strong understanding of SQL
Familiarity with microservice architecture
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
