Senior Manager, Change Management Communications-(21005299)

GENERAL PURPOSE :

This influential role will serve as an internal business consultant in the support of cross-functional capabilities and services for the Store Operations function.

This role will work with senior management to lead efforts to prioritize initiatives, manage executive alignment, and implement improvements by focusing on executable strategy and integrating best practices with functional knowledge.

This role will serve as a subject matter expert in store operations and drive the evolution of the function. Additionally, this role will support the event planning and execution of annual meetings for field leaders.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

  • Provides operational expertise to business partners, recommends best approach to ensure store execution, and manages competing demands through negotiation and compromise to ensure that the holistic needs of the organization are met.
  • Brings knowledge of industry best practices and applies that information in discussing solutions that may address those needs for Stores.

    Visits Stores as needed to validate pilot / rollout direction.

  • Directs and supervises changes to current operations programs through project communications, develops training in partnership with the Training Department, creates procedures, guides, forms and reports to drive strong process execution in Stores.
  • Coordinates with project managers and leads annual process to implement volume and / or characteristic-specific best practices to eligible stores.

  • Develops communication that translates complex concepts into clear and easy to understand communication with effective layout and design, language, and tone for the intended audience.
  • Designs and produces quality written and visual communications to meet the needs of the Operations group (manuals, store meeting agendas, task management communications, guides, etc.)

  • Create and deliver effective change management strategies for both Ross and dd’s Stores that align with business objectives and drive adoption of new Store initiatives.
  • Create and deliver change management tools based on the level of change to drive adoption of new initiatives in Stores, as well as continual execution post rollout.
  • Interfaces with all levels of management (Sr. Vice Presidents, Zone Directors, District Managers and Stores) and is responsible for building consensus around changes and rollout plans.

  • QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED :

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • 5+ years of retail management experience that includes project management and business process ownership in Store Operations, multi-unit or a hybrid of field and corporate experience preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge of store operations and how other operating areas impact stores.
  • Strong leadership with particular success leading and / or working with integrated, multi-functional teams
  • Possess executive presence and able to influence without authority
  • Ability to storyboard, develop concise executive level communication, and facilitate meetings that effectively drives decisions or alignment
  • Proven ability to think strategically and determine impact of decisions on the business.
  • Outstanding work ethic; displays a high sense of urgency to resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Willingness and flexibility to jump into the details to get the job done.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Advance proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; InDesign preferred.
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / ADA :

    Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer.

    Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper / files, etc.

    Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.

    Vision requirements : Ability to see information in print and / or electronically.

    This role requires regular in-office presence, including to engage in in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration, client support, mentoring, coaching, and / or feedback.

    However, this role can perform duties effectively using a combination of in-office and remote work.
