The opportunity

The Senior Manager should have extensive experience in Financial Accounting Advisory Services. The person is also expected to display strong technical knowledge in US GAAP and / or IFRS.

While the Senior Manager will be based in our Manila office, the role requires the person to travel (on a short or long term basis) to other countries to lead multiple global or domestic Client Service / Engagement teams and ensure exceptional quality service

Your key responsibilities

The Senior Manager will be responsible for working closely with FAAS leadership, Partners, Senior Managers and Managers on client engagements across Americas and EMEIA.

The incumbent will provide technical support, grow the GDS portfolio and coach EY GDS Assurance Managers.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Act as a FAAS subject matter expert for one or more FAAS solutions, including : Financial Accounting and Reporting Excellence GAAP conversions Transaction accounting Accounting change (revenue recognition and lease accounting) Accounting policy and governance Remediation and readiness
  • Addressing service delivery quality issues, if and when they occur.
  • Conduct and contribute to the FAAS team performance & reviews, serve as a positive leader and mentor, and organizing and providing technical training.
  • Identify development opportunities and training needs for high performing Managers.
  • Actively support the Americas or EMEIA FAAS leadership both in terms of growth as well as quality initiatives.
  • Enhance relationships with global teams and leverage connections to identify opportunities for work at the GDS.
  • Responsibilities, Qualifications, Certifications - External

    To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • 10 13 years (post qualification) in assurance or finance controllership roles, including at least 5 years of Financial Accounting and Advisory experience
  • Expert knowledge of IFRS or US GAAP and accounting standards
  • Extensive hands on experience in the following areas : GAAP conversions and implementation of new accounting standards Drafting and designing accounting policies Technical accounting research and advice Consolidation and compilation support Financial statement close process support Transaction accounting and reporting IPOs, Carve outs, PPA, etc.
  • Remediation and readiness Benchmarking services and market analysis Advanced data analytics (knowledge of the subject will be a plus)

    Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Strong management skills to lead teams, delegate appropriately, mentor, review performance and counsel employees.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, client servicing and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to research client inquires and emerging issues, including regulations, industry practices and new technologies.
  • Industry sector specialization and international work experience will be valued.
