The Head of Project is ultimately responsible for the implementation of the projects which fall under their responsibility.
As such they are responsible for the financial, HR management and the implementation of project activities to ensure that activities are implemented on time and in line with agreed contracts.
Key activities in your role will include
1. Planning and implementation of project activities
Responsible for planning and overseeing the implementation of all project activities.
Will work with key project staff to develop a project workplan and review this on a monthly basis to ensure that all project activities are implemented on time and that any issues are raised with the Coordination Team.
Should work with the Technical Department to ensure that key activities follow technical standards and that technical feedback and action points are integrated into the project workplan.
Should ensure close coordination with the Consortium and Implementing Partners involved in the Action to ensure cohesion with the overall design and strategy of the project.
2. Management of financial resources
Rnsible for the financial planning and follow-up of the project.
Actively manage the available resources to ensure that they are efficiently allocated in line with donor standards and compliance.
Review all project spending (HR and activity costs) on a monthly basis and update the spending plan accordingly to ensure that all funds are planned to be spent before the end of the project period and highlighting any challenges or problems to the Coordination Team.
3. Planning of logistics procurements for the project
The Head of Project should ensure that there is a clear and implementable procurement plan for the project and review this on a monthly basis with the Logistics Department.
Ensure that all procurement on the project is planned in line with Action Against Hunger's procurement guidelines and in compliance with donor standards
4. HR management and planning for project staff
Responsible for the management of the project team ensuring that staff are recruited on time to an appropriate standard and that any gaps in staff are managed.
Responsible to ensure that staff on the project are appraised as per Action Against Hunger's HR guidelines and that support and trainings are provided for the project team as and when needed.
Ensure the good collaboration within the team through ensuring a good team spirit and motivation of staff.
5. Ensure the accurate monitoring and reporting of programmes
Responsible for ensuring that monitoring and evaluation tools for the project are relevant and standardized and for ensuring the accurate data management of project data.
Responsible for preparing and reviewing all internal and external reports to ensure the accuracy and relevance of information reported and that reports are submitted in a timely manner and to an appropriate standard.
6. Adherence to donor guidelines and technical standards
Should be aware of donor guidelines and ensure that key staff are informed about key reporting and compliance procedures.
Regularly review the project activities to ensure their compliance with key technical standards and compliance to donor rules and regulations.
Do you meet the profile required criteria?
At least 3 years in the previous field experience in a relief NGO with integrated (multi-sectoral) project management.
At least 2 years experience in Project Management in emergency context
Management of volatile security contexts in capacity to face a stressful environment.
Working in a consortium is an asset
2. Strong knowledge in the following :
Donor guidelines and procedures
Project Cycle Management and reporting
3. Excellent command in English and Tagalog is required (speaking and written)
