Software Engineer designs and configures solutions based on customer specific requirements and agreed specifications, performs testing of the configured solution, solution technical documentation and store in designated folder.
Software Engineer supports the Solution Delivery Engineers during installations until completion of the customer agreed configured solution.
Supports the Solution Architect and the Project Manager in reviewing of the technical specifications, efforts required and in liaising with customers and OEM partners whenever required.
What you will do :
Leading and implementing traceability and authentication projects and is the focal consultant and escalation point for product traceability and authentication solution.
Review of the final Blue Print Functional Specifications (BPFS) before starting design and configuration; escalate to immediate manager / PM for any issue
Strategically execute the project engineering process and activities aligned with the agreed project plan set by PM in JIRA, ensure that development and configuration time budget meet expectation
Escalate out of scope request to immediate manager for approval
Utilize Standard Solution Packages as the starting point for configuration or project engineering work on all customer project;
and build a PIM for new non-standard configured solution
Responsible for performing in-house verification of the configured solutions
Build the documentations required based on project deliverables and store in JIRA / designated shared folder
Handover of the configured solution for review and validation with Service Delivery Engineer
Creation and delivery of the hand off package for the Helpdesk
Support escalated installation, FAT and SAT issues
Escalate Standard Product or Solution Package issue, needed functionality to Level 3 technical support (CTS)
Develop and mentor team members on technical issues and be a trusted internal escalation point for all product traceability and authentication solution issues
What you need to have :
Engineering background including PC and cloud-based web systems
Computer Skills and aptitude for quickly learning new software tools and computer hardware
Knowledgeable in packaging industry and supply chain automation with understanding of GS1 Standards and regulation.
Experience in developing cloud-based web applications, able to test, install and validate performance against project deliverables
Strong work experience on XSLT with good knowledge of SOA, SOAP, REST, WSDL, XML and some knowledge of SAP, Tracelink, rfXcel and Arvato.
Knowledge of AS2 / SFTP / FTP file transfers.
Familiarity of SSL / TLS, WS-Security and federated security
Understanding of software development and service delivery methodology
Must be fluent in English, multi-lingual is preferred
Acts in a professional manner and enhances customer satisfaction.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels for the organization
Ability to work in a multi-tasked environment
Direct customer interface experience preferred
Documentation skills a MUST
The position involves approximately 10% - 25% of travel, on average, and includes domestic and international travel. This involves traveling to customer sites, possibly involving air travel.
Bachelor or comparable degree in Engineering (Electrical, Software, Computer, or Automation)
Experience with packaging line equipment, preferably in pharmaceutical and / or food packaging industries
Proven track record of developing, testing and installing solutions across multiple sites and or countries.
Proven track record of fault finding and problem solving.
