The individual is responsible for maintaining and administering the server infrastructure and ensuring the stable operation of 500 server systems based on Windows Server 2008, 2012 and 2016, mostly running under VMware ESX.
This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting and optimizing of the server environment in North America.
Additionally, the individual is responsible for working with a worldwide team across the computer centers of Client'
s to define and implement standards. This includes administering all equipment, hardware and software upgrades and configuration management and monitoring.
The Administrator will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining policies, procedures and associated training plans for server resource administration, appropriate use and disaster recovery.
Provides 2nd line technical support and administration of the server infrastructure running the business applications in a high availability, 24 hour global operating environment.
Manages incidents, problems, queries and requests relating to the IT Infrastructure that have been escalated from the Support Desk.
Analyzes, diagnoses and delivers resolution of incidents and known problems.
Responds to monitoring alerts, picks up infrastructure and application alerts, identifies technical components in errors, investigates and determines likely cause.
Implements technical changes while working within strict change management guidelines.
Manages major incidents, including business impact analysis, working with suppliers and any 3rd parties to resolve, escalating as required.
Participates in Incident reviews.
Conducts testing of patches.
Participates in problem management in coordination with the US based part of the team to enable continuous improvement of application environment and system stability.
Works within established ITIL processes in support of the systems, including incident, problem, change and release management.
Qualifications : Must have -
Must have -
At least 2 years IT Windows server 2008, 2012 and 2016 administration & support experience.
Citrix and SCCM
Deep knowledge in administration of Windows Server, VMware and software for monitoring, backup and configuration management.
Experience using the Virtual Center console to build and deploy new virtual servers as well as manage existing virtual servers.
Experience solving complex and large-scale hardware / software problems including strong project and time management skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication in English.
Should also have -
Strong knowledge of Active Directory.
Preferred experience in support of Client servers and operating systems.
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of VMware ESX.
Storage connectivity (SAN, NAS, iSCSI, etc.) experience.
Experience supporting one or more of the following technologies - Citrix XenDesktop, Terminal Services, vSphere, SQL, or IIS a plus.
High skill in operations based ITIL standard processes.
General IT understanding and a strong ability to develop further IT skills.
Familiar with Networking (TCP / IP, WINS, DNS, DHCP).
Knowledge and experience working within change control.
Good understanding of incident and problem management processes.
High attention to detail, ability to interpret technical data to resolve problems.
Ability to think logically and work through a problem.
High proficiency in troubleshooting skills.

Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in Information Technology
