The role of a trainee

Our training contracts are firm wide and you will be expected to undertake at least one seat in a different office. One of the traits of a good solicitor is the ability to cross-sell and this multi office approach allows you to build a strong foundation for when you qualify.

Furthermore, we are looking to develop you into a business adviser within one of our six key sectors and it is vital you have a breadth and depth of experience in order to achieve this.

Working across teams and offices will ensure you are successful.

As one of our trainees, you will have regular and open communication with your supervisors. You will get lots of exposure to different situations, clients and to people within the firm who will help you to develop your legal and commercial expertise, in an environment that is friendly and supportive.

Training contracts available

We can consider applications from 2021 onwards. Assessment days will be held in March 2021 in our Plymouth office. Following the assessment days, successful candidates will be offered a training contract.

The recruitment process

The deadline is 31 December 2020. Within two weeks of the respective deadlines you will receive an update. After your application has been reviewed, if successful you will be invited to attend a Zoom interview.

If you have demonstrated the potential we require you will then be invited to an assessment day.

The application

The application is a two part process. We want you to upload your CV, as we feel this will give you an opportunity to provide more information about yourself.

You will also need to complete the application questions below, taking particular care over the three core questions which are designed to highlight your potential.
