Job Purpose / Mission / Summary

The Associate Portfolio Marketing Manager (APMM) for hardware, as part of the Market and Competitive Intelligence Team in Lexmark, focuses on product development activities and analysis of competitive landscape focusing on printer hardware features, prices and channels.

The APMM is responsible for the following major activities within the Market and Competitive Intelligence Team :

  • Portfolio Management
  • Marketing Strategy Development
  • Product Marketing Management
  • Project Management
  • Continuous Process Improvement
  • The Associate Portfolio Marketing Manager is integral to the business decision-making process and to the determination of the development of future products.

    Key Roles and Responsibilities :

  • Portfolio Management : Identifies and recommends growth and opportunity areas for the assigned product segments. Designs and proposes pricing strategies to maximize portfolio profitability oMonitors competitor pricing at different levels and provides insights to determine Lexmark’s price positioning strategy oIdentifies top selling devices and monitors product performance health Monitors and analyses Lexmark supplies portfolio pricing and cost per page (CPP) vs competitors to support Lexmark’s product positioning strategy .
  • Marketing Strategy Development : Develops and proposes marketing strategies and value propositions of Lexmark devices.
  • Analyzes and recommends marketing programs and pricing strategies to counter competitors. Manages CSTL (country shipped-to list) activity for new products.

  • Product Marketing Management : Product research and competitive analysis researches and analyzes printing industry and competitive information which include product features, pricing and path to market strategy and activities.
  • Business Planning develops and executes plans and timelines on assigned projects supporting product development . Positioning develops price / positioning models of Lexmark devices vis-à-vis our competitors to the Product Portfolio Managers.

    Product supports product introductions and product updates oWorks with PPM on various activities related to product launch Manages Master Data Management (MDM) process for new products oDevelops content for presentations that support launches and updates oReviews and validates accuracy of product information (e.

    g. LPMD, CSTL file) oGathers, consolidates, and analyzes product feedback from Product Marketing, Field Marketing, and Sales teams to support strategic product development

  • Project Management : As analyst-in-charge (AIC) for reporting packages : Project manages and coordinates with several other CI analysts for specific competitive package preparations and other relevant competitive studies for executive and board meetings.
  • Continuous Process Improvement : Drives standardization and simplification of existing processes. Improves research processes and reports visualization using emerging tools and technologies.

    Education, Experience and Certifications Basic Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university preferably in Marketing, Finance, Business and, Engineering so long as there is minimum of 3 years experience in the following fields : Marketing, Product Management, Business Development
  • Ability to effectively communicate in standard business English
  • Experienced in and highly skilled in the use of Microsoft Office - Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Basic working knowledge of Power BI; advantage if with experience in utilization of other dashboarding tools
  • Capable of sophisticated web research
  • Adept at sorting and cataloguing information
  • Adept at drawing inferences from large amounts of data
  • Flexible to work shifts
