As a member of the Corporate DevOps team you will be responsible for applying expertise in the development, deployment and ongoing support of Microchip's software development environment.
Your role will be to assist other team members and end users with support issues, monitor key services and address any failures.
The primary focus is on quality portals and revision control servers support on Linux platform.
Job duties :
The position is focused on Software Development support for systems such as : Configuration Management and Source code revision control using git and build management.
The successful candidate will support Software and Firmware developers, interact with other support team members to help support and maintain the design development infrastructure using UNIX scripting and web interfaces.
Responsible for providing technical support for a development environment to enable Software Development teams to deliver high quality integrated solutions on schedule
Define and implement infrastructures based on diverse business needs driven by established and emerging markets and customer requirements.
Collaborate with Software Development teams in developing new methodologies.
Monitor JIRA tickets related to relevant support components
Take ownership of issue resolution when impacted user is in a nearby time zone
Minimum qualifications include :
Bachelor’s degree in Computer and Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent degree is required
Familiarity with scripting languages, such as Python, Perl, and Bash
Experience working on a software development team using issue tracking tools such as JIRA or Polarion and source control management such as Git
Experience with end user support, like help / service desk duty : good customer satisfaction practices
Experience with application access control, permissions and group management
Capable of working autonomously (given high level directions)
Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred qualifications include :
Working knowledge of Docker and how it can be used in a test environment
Experience with Agile software development processes
Familiar with Software build tools such as Ant, Maven, Ivy and be able to maintain and expand on existing build scripts
Experience in effectively using CI / CD tools such as Jenkins to maintain, develop and deploy software into a working production pipeline
Familiar with Automotive SPICE (ASPICE) and Functional Safety (ISO26262) Standards
Unix / Linux user experience, some IT knowledge a plus.
Preferred 3 to 5 years of relevant experience
