Detail of responsibilities and opportunities to learn :

  • Review and manage domestic and international tax compliance prepared by external tax service providers. This requires capability in identifying, analyzing, documenting, and recommending options on complex tax compliance issues such asTaxation of Partnership Operations including determination of Partner’s distributive share, Substantial Economic Effect (IRC Section 704(b)), Capital Account Maintenance, transfer of partnership interest, allocation with respect to contributed property under IRC section 704(c).
  • Allocations of liabilities per IRC Section 752Distributions by Partnerships, Redemptions of partnership interests, Dispositions of Partnership Interest and Partnership Assets, Partnership Terminations, Mergers and Divisions, Disguised Sales, etc.

    Various states compliance requirements such as apportionment and allocation, nexus, unitary, federal conformity, non-resident withholding taxes and the ability to recommend possible state and local tax efficiencies and benefits.

    Real Estate Investment Trust compliance and testing requirements.International filing such as Form 1042, 5472, BEAT, FBAR, CBCR, W-8, and FATCABook tax differences and proper application of tax regulations.

    Strong book-to-tax accounting fundamentals required.

  • Assist in streamlining tax reframing process. This requires reviewing and documenting workflows, internal controls, and automation requirements.
  • We are a roll up your sleeves department in which we all work together to accomplish our goals and identify opportunities for improvements in our processes.
  • Education

  • MBT and / or CPA.
  • Experience Preferred :

  • 5+ years of tax experience in a large private company and / or Big 4.
  • Federal, State and International Tax experience (preferably in real-estate). REIT experience a bonus; Strong analytical skills, with desire to learn and be challenged;
  • Strong computer skills with excel expertise and with the ability to streamline process.
