External Job Description

The position will be based in Manila, Philippines and report directly to the Regional Compliance Director - APAC & Indian Subcontinent .

This position is principally responsible for managing ADM’s anti-corruption program in Philippines and assisting with the implementation and support of other commercial compliance objectives in the region.

Commercial compliance focus areas in the region include Competition Law Compliance, Anti-Corruption, Trade Compliance, Data Privacy, Code of Business Conduct, Conflicts of Interest, and related areas.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

  • Interact with employees at all levels and potential business partners in order to obtain information required to conduct effective third party due diligence reviews.
  • Conduct due diligence reviews on potential business partners and acquisition targets aligned with internal guidelines.

  • Evaluate the risk of corruption in business practices to determine priority areas for policies, communication, training and auditing.
  • Advise management regarding the requisite steps to bridge identified gaps.

  • Monitor local laws and recommend changes to internal guidelines, policies, procedures and training programs as appropriate.
  • Periodically review internal controls, company policies, systems and procedures applicable to the region. Implement remedial actions to mitigate risk of non-
  • compliance with policies and applicable law.

  • Develop and manage regional compliance training efforts, including delivery of training for colleagues and business partners.
  • Receive information from employees and others about potential violations of law or company policy and ensure that allegations are investigated and concluded promptly and in line with internal investigative guidelines and procedures.
  • Any other responsibilities as may be considered necessary to support and advise management regarding ADM’s high standards of ethical business conduct.
  • Position requirements :

  • Qualified lawyer, auditor or forensic accountant or with relevant compliance experience.
  • Two - four years of relevant work experience. This may include corporate compliance and ethics department or other comparable experience of monitoring compliance or enforcing rules and regulations in a multinational company.
  • Must be fluent in local language and English, although additional knowledge of South East Asian languages will also be helpful.
  • Must be able to travel throughout region and internationally, and willing to work non-standard hours due to time zone differences.
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Must be able to communicate negative results and reasons to business units and senior management. Must, through excellent interpersonal skills, have the ability to bring about organizational change.

  • Training Must be able to develop and deliver training materials to business units and business partners.
