Credit Portfolio Analyst
The Asia Pacific Analytics Center Risk Management Unit (APAC RMU) was established in Manila to provide Global Industry, Financial Institutions and Public Sector / Sovereign credit research and analysis support across Asia, with responsibility for credit research, analysis, credit approval and portfolio management.
Principal Responsibilities :
Perform financial spreading and generate accurate credit ratings
Complete timely & quality Credit Approval packages with level of supervision commensurate with complexity of portfolio client.
Credit approval packages include annual, interim and initial reviews, classified credit reports, etc.
Effectively communicate and liaise with product / industry bankers and risk officers to proactively identify and escalate key risks and material changes to portfolio clients by monitoring industries, geographies and accounts
Conduct peer analysis; identify industry trends; assess appropriateness of credit facilities and exposure; and, prepare capital, liquidity and product stress tests, with a view to providing a credit outlook for the account
Proactively review periodic financial results, statements and new updates to monitor operating performance, liquidity position and financial condition of portfolio clients
Conduct industry / portfolio reviews and stress-testing, as needed
Train / coach colleagues, as required
Develop an understanding of how financial and capital markets transactions, including derivative and foreign exchange trading, generate risk exposure, and how this affects extensions of credit to FI clients
Coordinate with other departments and various levels of management regarding credit risk reporting issues, including investigating data issues, and resolving reporting errors
Manage assigned / ad hoc projects in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and that deliverables are met. Level of supervision will be commensurate with complexity of the task
Graduate of Business-related courses, preferably Economics, Accounting or Finance; Post-graduate in Business, Finance or Accounting or FRM / CPA / CFA professional qualifications an advantage
A passionate interest in finance and strong analytical, research, and organizational skills are required Familiarity with risk management & systems is a plus
Proven ability to work independently and in a team
Highly attentive to details, while being able to work under pressure and deliver timely and accurate results
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with fluency in English Mandarin language skills are an advantage but not required
Strong quantitative skills (Microsoft Excel) MS Access / VBA skills are an advantage but not required
