The position will be responsible for the ongoing service and support of UNIX servers and their associated equipment, storage and backup solutions, along with potential for involvement in key deployment projects related to the platform.

Assigned Responsibilities
The position will report directly to the IST Specialist (Computer Center Administration), of the Office of Information Systems and Technology (OIST).
The primary tasks and activities of the position are :
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of 4 years’ experience in administration, installation, maintenance and troubleshooting UNIX / Linux system environments
Hands-on experience working with UNIX / Linux infrastructure and associated hardware.
At least 2 years’ experience as a technical support engineer person in UNIX / Linux enterprise environment
Relevant experience in providing back-end support to other technical support teams
Relevant experience in installing and supporting UNIX / Linux-based applications such as Apache, Tomcat, Postfix, LDAP, MySQL.
Experience in scripting and automation in a UNIX / Linux environment
Familiarity with Linux security
Familiarity with system monitoring tools
Familiarity Jumpstart / kickstart,
Familiarity with MS Windows 7 Enterprise and earlier
