Essential Responsibilities :

Facilitate automation or redesign business case intake sessions and drive discussion of opportunities to incorporate similar processes into the business case

Redefine current state processes to create valuable and cost-effective automation projects and / or process redesign opportunities

Obtain the business sponsor’s agreement to move forward with automation or redesign projects

Set the expectation for business involvement during project delivery

Document details of the target process and applications used during the process for handoff to delivery squads

Provide subject matter expertise

Ensure compliance with company procedures and industry regulations

Support escalation resolution

Act as lead point of contact for internal customers with regards to customer service operations activities

Analyze and solve operations-related issues that arise

Resolve issues related to customer service and / or operations as posed by the internal or external consumer

Collaborate with management peers to build networks and relationships with internal and external partners to meet or exceed business objectives

Support initiatives and projects

Other duties as assigned

Individual Accountabilities :

Responsible for executing technical and business projects across multiple stakeholders; developing analysis to support process and project improvements

Researches and analyzes improvement opportunities, conducts analysis, prepares recommendations and facilitates efficiency enhancements

Develops business requirement documents and specifications

Works as directed by management team to research and document business issues involving workflow procedures and processes

Analyzes data and work with management to develop creative solutions

Proactively identifies issues with workflows and processes; suggests improvements to management

Reviews suggested workplans

Coordinates ongoing service, maintenance post-implementation

Has positive impact to specific organizational entities & has some understanding of the nature of the impact

Usually a top contributor to team's success

Relevant Experience and Requirements

4+ years related industry experience

Core Skill Capabilities in : Operational Efficiency, Business Partner Relationship Management

Strong understanding of operational processes and supporting systems of financial services databases and tracking systems

Strong leadership, communication, relationship management, project management and analytical skills

Ability to create a stimulating and motivating environment

Exceptional problem-solving skills along with strong judgment / knowledge to handle product and procedural exceptions request without compromising legal, system limitations or regulatory requirements

Demonstrates understanding of how technology supports Manulife's strategy

Strong detail orientation

Awareness of full-technology stack

Strong communicator who can negotiate effectively with business to clarify needs vs. wants / likes in order to balance business direction / requirements with cost of development and risk

An effective facilitator for the Team to deliver incremental and iterative units of business value

Has a natural ability to breakdown, decompose and describe business needs into Stories supporting an iterative and incremental delivery model

Mentors Associate Business Analysts

Good working / background knowledge of practice area

Use and combine knowledge of the discipline and the market to formulate the right approach

Understands the corporate climate & culture

Constantly learns from both success and failure

Good organizational and problem-solving abilities that enable you to manage through creative abrasion

Good verbal and written communication; able to effectively articulate technical vision, possibilities, and outcomes

Essential but not required : LOMA designation
