Job Summary : Provide pre-sale and post-sale technical applications support to customers, sales representatives, reseller partners and consulting engineers.
Serve as a reliable conduit between the field and the sales, marketing, engineering, and order fulfillment departments. Primary Duties and Responsibilities :
Provide pre- and post-sales quality technical assistance (via phone and email). Requirements include application of Vertiv Monitoring products and technical troubleshooting.
Collaborate with sales personnel to define requirements and provide quotations for custom configurations in a timely manner..
Interface with engineering, product marketing and field support to ensure appropriate issue resolution and improve product quality.
Background / Experience Required :
Working knowledge of Data Communications Processes are required, including : Network devices : Routers, Ethernet switches, hubs, NICs, IP addressing, operating systems (Windows, Linux), etc.
Troubleshooting down to Ethernet packet level
Familiarity with standard protocols such as : Modbus, SNMP, RS232, RS422, RS485, ARCnet, BACnet is desirable.
Familiarity with Building Monitoring Systems (BMS), or similar monitoring / management technologies, is desirable.
2+ years of experience working within sales, engineering, parts & service, field applications and / or data center environment
1+ year of experience in customer phone support
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or related discipline.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required :
Detail-oriented; a high degree of accuracy regarding problem-solving and analytical skills is required
A professional attitude towards customer relations is required.
Good verbal and written English communications skills and presentation skills are required.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently are required.
Good PC skills (spreadsheets, database and word processing) are required.
