As a team, Network Planning is responsible for the overall Canadian Retail Program management, developing the RBA portfolio plans for the markets and coordinating / driving the implementation of the plans to deliver an industry leading network.

Working in collaboration with all parts of Retail business, strategic initiatives analysis, budget development, Capex / Opex management and financial modeling / forecasting are key components of this role where diversity of thought & approaches is encouraged.

Main Accountabilities

  • Create detailed master plans of the markets using global planning principles and local knowledge
  • Identify and conduct initial project feasibility analysis for projects. Act as Business Opportunity Manager for Capex projects.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the chain of activities that Shell performs to deliver value to the market / business / enterprise / shareholder.
  • Lead / participate in Capex project post investments reviews (PIR)s and identification of improvement opportunities.
  • Financial analysis including evaluation of retail sites (with DOVAMO evaluation) and building business case proposals
  • Volume forecasting, research on demographics, infrastructure changes and developments of focused area.
  • Program management and implementation of Network activities in respective geography within Canada.
  • Participate in portfolio projects, strategic initiatives, development of market master plans as required
  • Analyze data of existing network in order to propose business recommendations, reporting of
  • Network KPI's
  • Stakeholder management required at both peer and senior management levels
  • Development and implementation of the Multi Year Plan (MYP) for Canada; including capex, volume, opex requirements.
  • Utilization of global planning & mapping tools and processes ie : PlaNet / Gnomic
  • Competencies & knowledge requirements

  • Team player with solid interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Established ability to create relationships and work in a virtual, multi-cultural environment
  • Demonstrated ability to think commercially and strategically.
  • Ability to analyze, process & interpret large amounts of data within tight deadlines, able to set & work with (conflicting) priorities.
  • Ability to learn quickly with different environments, stakeholders and organizational requirements applicable to this role.
  • Ability to manage and work collaboratively with a wide range of internal & external stakeholders & deliver results through others.
  • Set clear goals and measure progress against delivery.
  • Incorporate project management approach to the development and implementation of the Multi Year Plan
  • Highly proficient in Excel, Power Point and knowledge of financial tools (DCF model / P&L) preferred.
