The Role

Shell Creative Services is an in-house design studio supporting Shell Lubricants Marketing in North America. We operate in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment with high-volume output supporting leading lubricants brands across multiple channels.

Creative Services is responsible for packaging design and production, print and interactive promotions, Marketing and trade advertising, digital solutions, live events and brand stewardship.

The Project Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, managing and executing projects from beginning to end, including communicating project objectives, developing schedules, stakeholder management, etc.

Project scope can vary from single asset to a multi-faceted, multi-channel Marketing or promotional campaign. The Project Manager works with Creative Services team members, Brand, Channel, Sector and Marketing Managers, Legal, Technical, agencies and vendors.

Minimum 3-5 years in advertising, Marketing, Corporate Communications or similar environments.The ideal candidate is an active listener, anticipates challenges, provides solutions, is agile and proactive with a continuous-improvement mindset.

SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIE S

  • Responsible for the scheduling and coordination of projects with internal clients, Creative Services staff and external vendors.
  • Proactively meets with clients to provide creative and value-added solutions while maintaining brand compliance. Gathers information on communication objectives, audience, budget and deadlines.
  • Works with Graphics Manager / Designers to assign projects and balance deadlines within Creative Services.
  • Meets all deadlines. Proactively and consistently utilizes web-based tools for project management, scheduling and archiving.
  • Ensures that work on projects doesn’t stall because of unanswered questions or lack of information. This means regular communication with Designers and Marketing Managers.

  • Participates in meetings and is a member on work group items.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge on subject matter and provides support to client groups regarding brand strategy and corporate vision.
  • Obtains cost estimates from Print Manager and determines most cost effective ways to meet deadlines and communication objectives.
  • Ensures that projects leaving the department for routing are spelled correctly by proofreading layouts before they begin routing.
  • Ensures that assigned projects produced by Creative Services have the proper approvals before printing by delivering layouts with routing sheets to all necessary personnel.
  • Establishes forms and systems required to facilitate the flow of work within the department and with clients and vendors.
  • Allocates time wisely and effectively.
  • Handles multiple priorities regarding routine matters and some issue resolution.
  • Will escalate difficult situations to supervisor. ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Excellent project management, people management, time management and multitasking skills are a must along with the ability to work independently or in a diverse work group.
  • Superior presentation and analytical skills. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Develops and / or adheres to brand identity systems and graphics standards guidelines.
  • On occasion, will act as a team or project leader providing direction to team activities and facilitating information validation and team decision-making process.
  • May seek advice in order to make decisions on complex business issues.

  • Computer literate. Proficiency with industry-standard software. REQUIREMENTS
  • 3-5+ years experience in Marketing, advertising, design, communications or other relevant fields.
  • Strong project management experience, demonstrating ability to manage and prioritize a high volume of projects and activities.
  • Strong knowledge of the creative process, from ideation through execution.
  • Computer literate. Proficiency with industry-standard software.
  • Other critical competencies : Strong leadership skills, ability to inspire and motivate a diverse organization.Balance of strategic and creative skills.
  • Strong prioritization skills.
