Okta is seeking a top tier candidate for APAC Payroll Manager to join our TBD. We are seeking a self-motivated, system savvy, team player with experience working in a fast-paced environment.

This position will review and approve payroll for Australia, Japan, Philippines & Singapore.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • 7 - 10 years of experience
  • Holds Bachelor’s degree in any field
  • Process improvement mentality
  • Experience using Workday (a plus)
  • 4+ years People Operations or Finance experience in an international fast-paced organization
  • Experience in operational internal controls, analytical and problem-solving skills, strong attention to details and accuracy
  • Track records on process improvement and / or automation implementations
  • Collaborate effectively across the organization, particularly strong ability to impact and influence partners, vendors to achieve results
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and navigate ambiguity in a global team environment
  • Ability to work professionally and discreetly with extremely confidential information
  • Minimum Qualifications

  • Deliver results on key performance areas for payroll metrics and issue management process
  • Work effectively as change agent and drive continuous process improvement
  • Provide data support for internal and external payroll audits and local wage surveys
  • Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed timely and accurately
  • Identify, research and resolve day to day Workday Payroll issues
  • Understand proper taxation of employee and employer benefits and deductions
  • Support SOX key controls and quarterly reviews.
  • Manage Iternational payroll providers (Workday / ADP Streamline)
  • Ensure stock activity for APAC region is processed and reported. (RSUs, ESPP, ISOs, NQs)
  • Review and audit all quarterly / annual filings
  • Provide analysis on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)
  • Review and optimize current processes and procedures through continued integration of systems, enhanced automation and digitization of records
  • Maintain strong and productive relationships with People team, including Benefits, Operations, Finance, Stock Admin, Legal and other internal stakeholders
  • Manage employees’ payroll related queries (and escalations) and proactive communication on payroll legislative changes
  • Assist with audits and perform special projects or other duties as requested
  • Review and resolve tax notices and reconcile all payments
