Job Description *

Microchip Technology is looking for a talented experienced Software Engineer to expands its DevTools department in Bangalore

The successful candidate will be part of an international team that designs and develops the web-based new generation ecosystem of synergically working tools for rapid development, design of applications and code-generation.

We use a variety of technologies and languages in the projects implementing this new suite; such as : node.js, TypeScript, REST services, token based authentication, graph database (neo4j), JAVA, Python, AWS.

The individual selected for this position - depending on her / his level of seniority - will be responsible for the following objectives :

Design and develop web services and applications that are part of the new ecosystem of tools for rapid development, design and code-generation

Work with system architects to ensure a smooth and effective user experience

Collaborate with a wide range of other engineers to provide a superior product to our customers

Provide salient technical input, in manageable terms, to stakeholders, management and teammates

The ability to mentor both up and down the reporting hierarchy is strongly desired

Must have :

2+ years experience in web development, front-end, back-end

Professional experience (and willingness to work with) : TypeScript, JavaScript, node.js, graph databases (neo4j)

Excellent problem-solving skills

Experience in using source control and agile software development

Experience with continuous integration & deployment tools

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline

Good communication skills

Verbal and written communication skills in English

Strong verbal and written communication skills for interfacing with architecture, validation, manufacturing, and other discipline

Nice to have :

Knowledge in (some of) the languages and frameworks such as : Java, Python, C / C++, express.js

Experience with Jenkins or equivalent tool

Experience or knowledge of agile development

Experience with Atlassian toolset (e.g. JIRA and its plugins)

Experience with object-oriented programming languages

Experience with hardware and board testing

Knowledge of IEEE 1588

Knowledge of phase lock loops
