The Role You will play a key role by serving as the central link between the business, clients, product team, architecture team, development team and other related internal and external teams that are impacted by the product and / or projects you are managing.
You will develop comprehensive project plans and manage teams in the delivery of multifaceted projects and other project management related responsibilities.
This includes developing and managing project plans, project risk and issue logs, creating and managing project dashboards, organizing and conducting meetings and tracking action items from those meetings.
You will be responsible for the successful execution and completion of several technical healthcare benefits related projects and initiatives.
Drive superior, consistent project management for concurrent analytics projects through the following responsibilities
Develop a project plan which establishes key tasks, dates and resources required to successfully complete the plan and revise plans as appropriate
Track and report on performance against project goals
Develop and deliver progress reports, communications and presentations
Set and manage project expectations with team members and stakeholders
Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential issues, risks and dependencies, and devise mitigation plans
Work within established time frames and budget for assigned projects
Build relationships and work with stakeholders, project leaders, and cross-functional teams in a matrixed team set up
Effectively manage a team that includes developers, testers, business analysts and analytics resources to deliver projects
Work with stakeholders to interpret and document project requirements
Contribute to the development of new health benefits analytics, tools, applications and approaches, including prototyping of reports and solutions.
Institute and execute data quality guidelines to ensure the highest quality of project material, deliverables, data analysis and reporting
Assist with establishment of project management processes and ensure that they are followed consistently across projects.
Build and demonstrate knowledge of the healthcare benefits consulting business
The Requirements
Seasoned project manager, preferably in the healthcare industry, with experience handling data analytics and reporting technology projects
Experience in managing and interfacing between various levels of business and technical teams and team members
Familiarity with data analytics and reporting technologies such as SAS, data dashboards, PowerBI and similar visualization software
Previous hands-on development experience using these technologies preferred
Demonstrated ability to manage distributed and matrixed project teams
Strong technical, project management, business analysis and organizational skills
Demonstrated strong emphasis on high quality data, documentation, analytics and reporting
Experience with strategic planning and management, process improvement, change / scope management, conflict resolution, resource planning and utilization
Able to work independently as well as cross-functionally in an organization to successfully implement projects
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; high attention to detail; ability to clearly and confidently explain technical concepts to a variety of audiences;
ability to present to a wide range of audience
Demonstrated ability to manage project detailed tasks, such as but not limited to
Capturing minutes of discussions
Manage detailed risks, actions, issues and decision logs
Sound decision making in ability to manage and appropriately escalate issues for prompt and proper resolution
Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Proficient in the use of project management (e.g. MS Project) software and other tools such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Visio and Power Point.
Ability to quickly learn various project management software applications.
Experience working with a workflow management tool ( e.g. Azure DevOps, JIRA, or similar workflow tools )
Knowledge of both Waterfall and Agile software development frameworks, with hands-on experience in using both frameworks
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline
