JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS :
The Center for Orthopaedic Research and Translational Science (CORTS) at the Penn State College of Medicine is seeking qualified applicants for the position of a postdoctoral research scholar, with expertise working with rodents specifically mice, cell culture, molecular biology and histology.
The studies under Dr. Niyibizi’s supervision focus on evaluating proteins and peptides that have an effect on bone progenitor cell differentiation for their potential to accelerate bone fracture healing created in mice models.
Experience with mesenchymal stem cell isolation and characterization is a plus. Candidates for the position should have a PhD, or MD with strength in Biological sciences or biomedical engineering.
Candidates should be independently motivated, creative, and have a desire to learn and develop new techniques and approaches.
The best candidates should have excellent written and oral communication skills. The candidate should also be proficient at multitasking, prioritizing responsibilities, managing time, and interacting with all levels of staff in a multicultural environment.
