Formed in 2002, my client is a leading contractor with considerable experience in the Public / Private sectors, working on Industrial, Commercial and Education projects, working with values of up to £5m.

The growing business is supported by over 80 years combined experience of the companies leaders and has gained an enviable reputation for value and quality delivered by a dedicated workforce of industry professionals complemented by skilled subcontractors.

Reporting to the Managing Quantity Surveyor and working within a QS team, as a Quantity Surveyor you’ll be responsible for financial and contractual administration of allocated projects from award of contract to final account, and duties will include although not be limited to :

  • Commercial management of live projects
  • Taking responsibility for 2-3 sites, providing regular updates to clients and partners
  • Communicating with local utility companies and local authorities as required
  • Controlling cost management
  • Preparing cash flow forecast / cost projection
  • Re-measuring main contract works during progress of the contract
  • Reporting on re measurement and valuations
  • Identifying variations and ensuring relevant variation orders are received and valued
  • Monitoring project for efficiency, waste, performance and careful expenditure
  • Final account preparation, negotiation and agreement
  • To be considered for this Quantity Surveyor role you MUST have the following experience, skills, and attributes;
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the Construction sector
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a professional manner
  • High level of numeracy
  • Strong organisation skills with ability to work autonomously
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks in order to meet deadlines
  • High level of IT literacy and administration skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • A RICS accredited qualification preferred but not essential.
