Asia Pacific Analytics Center (APAC)

Background :

The Risk Management organization is an independent function within Citigroup, which partners with the business to actively manage market, credit, operational and franchise risk in a manner consistent with Citi’s risk appetite.

The Risk Management organization establishes the policies and guidelines for risk assessment and risk management, and ensures the appropriate controls and tools are in place to manage, measure and actively mitigate risks taken by the firm

Institutional Client Group Risk Management (ICG) coverage includes Markets and Banking and consists of eight teams, including two portfolio teams Financial Institutions Risk Management (FIRM) and Global Industries & Regional Credit (GIRC)

The Asia Pacific Analytics Center Risk Management Unit (APAC RMU) was established in Manila to provide Global Industry, Financial Institutions and Public Sector / Sovereign credit research and analysis support across Asia, with responsibility for credit research, analysis, credit approval and active portfolio management.

Geographic coverage includes 17 countries across Asia, spanning the ASEAN, Greater China, India subcontinent and Australia / New Zealand clusters

Qualifications

Limit Monitoring Analyst Principal Responsibilities :

  • The limit monitoring analyst proactively monitors exposures, undertakes analyses / investigations, where required, to ensure that exposures are properly escalated and steps are taken to resolve exceptions.
  • This involves interacting with different teams such as Markets, Business, Operations, Legal, systems support as well as Risk Managers

  • Coordinate with other departments and various levels of management regarding credit risk reporting issues, including investigating data issues and resolving reporting errors
  • Develop into a subject matter expert in as far as exceptions monitoring is concerned, and be able to implement actions toward resolving such exceptions as warranted
  • Identify policy and procedural gaps and be able to propose corrective actions
  • Support Risk Managers on exception-related responsibilities and ad hoc requests
  • Develop an understanding of how financial and capital markets transactions, including derivative and foreign exchange trading, generate risk exposure and how these affect extensions of credit
  • Manage assigned projects in a timely manner, ensuring that required deliverables are met
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues in other areas of Risk
