The Information Technology Services (ITS) Adminstrative Manager provides general administrative support to the ITS management team and provides first-level Help Desk support during peak periods.

The manager will work closely with the Associate Vice President and Chief Information Officer to ensure the department is staying within budget and maintaining its obligations to place equipment orders and process invoices in a timely manner.

This position coordinates and / or manages special projects or functions, and processes all equipment orders, purchase requisitions, and supplier invoices for the department using Workday.

Drafts general correspondence and generates budget reports for managers’ review. Coordinates the meeting calendar for the Associate Vice President and Chief Information Officer.

  • Primary point of contact with the University Information Services office.
  • Monitors and tracks department budgets and expenses daily. Makes recommendation to the CIO accordingly.
  • Prepares purchase requisitions, invoice requests, etc. within the Workday system.
  • Ability to prepare financial and departmental reports upon request to be used for high level Cabinet presentations / reports.
  • On an as-needed basis, provides first level Help Desk support by answering telephone calls, responding to support tickets via email, and providing occasional in-person technical support.
  • Onboard new employees preparing for their arrival to the office and ensuring equipment and accounts are prepared and ready for use.
  • Train new employees on the Workday application as well as business expense processes and policies. Also provide orientation to other internal ITS systems.
  • Perform simple website and social media updates.
  • Supports special projects and functions as assigned.

  • Education

    Bachelor’s degree (BA, BS, etc.) preferred.


    2 to 3 years of budgeting and administrative support work. Ability to prioritize multiple projects for the CIO.

    Licenses or Certifications


    Financial Responsibility

    Makes financial assignments (e.g., cost centers for vendor invoices) within accepted accounting guidelines, generates financial reports, monitors purchasing decisions, etc.


    May supervise and / or provide guidance to others regarding procedures, scheduling, budget status and Workday application usage.

    Possible supervision of student workers and interns.

    Special Knowledge

    Microsoft Office product suite including proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Effective communications and interpersonal skills.

    Ability to manage projects and multi-task.
