The Sr. Customer Engineer’s (CE) primary role is to provide on-site technical repair, installation, tests & commissioning and maintenance services to all Vertiv VERTICAL products and systems.
He is expected to deliver field service corrective and technical intervention according to the VERTIV- partner and end-customer contract deliverables / SLA (Service Level Agreement)
To engage with Vertiv partners and end-customers to explain fault analysis and recommend in detail technical solutions
Analytical and technically competent to evaluate and prepare root cause analysis (RCA) of product / systems problem within the shortest possible time and recommend technical solution / s.
He / she shall collate and analyze field failure results and symptoms statistically. This macro-level analysis will be a means to formulate corrective actions in the engineering and design of the future Vertiv products.
The Sr. CE will also provide standby hours on his designated area coverage and on-site services when needed. The responsibility involves on-
time response to site / s. First time fix is also a must for most of the service contract covered sites.
The Sr. CE is also responsible for coordinating with third party authorized service partners (ASP). Ideally, third-party service partners will handle specific on-
site services, which involves only swap-out of whole units / modules. Critical role include qualification of the third party service centers and support of authorized service partners.
The Sr. CE will be responsible to provide technical training for authorized service partners and partners on new products and ensure that they have relevant skill set to support VERTIV products / systems.
He also act as their technical advisor when there are technical escalation issues. He will be monitoring the progress of the service partner's competency level and make the relevant recommendation to fill in the gap.
Installed Equipment listing (assets mining) and documentation a basic role to comply with every time a field service call is responded to
Graduate of at least 4-year technical course or Bachelor's Degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering courses.
Must have at least 3 years related work experience
Prior experience as an electronics and electrical specialist preferred
Prior experience in technical repair / maintenance of Power UPS, LV Electrical Systems and / or Sub-station switchgears, breakers, protection relays is required.
Able to troubleshoot electronics, electrical and electro-mechanical equipment using schematic or block diagrams
Able to define problem, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions in both power electronics, electrical, mechanical and assess customer issues.
Can participate well in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
Has ability to interpret business, technical procedures and governmental regulations
Has strong presentation and technical report writing skills
Can perform effectively in a fast paced and high pressured environment
Has excellent communication skills and networking skills
Must be flexible to have 24 / 7 On-Call assignment
