The Data Engineer for Advanced Analytics is primarily responsible for assisting in the Extract, Transform and Load script development to support all data management, reporting solutions and data preparation to support advanced analytics projects.
Working knowledge of SQL, SSIS / SSDT, and VBA in Excel are key skills for this role.
Support data management tasks, including extracting, transforming and loading data from various systems into a SQL Server and / or an MS Access database
Develop automated and repeatable processes for extracting requested information from database systems and / or building new automated and ad hoc reports
Explore and discover new data sources, and transform raw data extract through profiling, cleaning, mapping and validation with expert resources
Present and visualize the data with the relevant use of graphs and charts in business intelligence clients (e.g. Tableau)
Document any changes in data systems, flow, relationships, and dependencies
Assess data quality, identify gaps in the data and eliminate irrelevant data
Maintain current database processes to ensure data and reporting consistency, accuracy, and integrity
Support ad-hoc requests for data analysis, summary statistics, and data mining as required by stakeholders
Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Operations Research, Computer Science, Information Technology or related fields.
Proficiency in SQL, MS Access, VBA and MS Excel required
Working experience on SSIS / SSDT and SQL Server required
Experience and familiarity with relational databases, data warehouse and datamarts
Expertise in data extraction, manipulation, and reporting
Knowledge of business intelligence tools such as Tableau preferred
Knowledge of data mining and advanced analytics techniques for predictive modeling preferred
Strong communication skills
Strong organization and project management skills
Excellent customer focus and a commitment to quality while still meeting deadlines
Ability to effectively communicate ideas and recommendations orally and in writing, while considering the viewpoint of others
