I.Basic Purpose of the Job

Responsible for the management of allfacilities construction & installation projects as well as the repair,maintenance and housekeeping of all buildings and premises (yards, perimeters,etc).

II.Reporting Relationship

Theposition reports to the Facilities Department Manager

III.Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Directs full scopefacilities engineering and project management through outsource projectengineers (designing, estimating, bidding, evaluating bids, project execution,project cost control, project records / documentation).
  • Selects, evaluates, andmanages architect and engineering consultants on related projects.
  • Maintains and updatesplant (production equipment, facilities equipment, office spaces, perimeter / real properties) layouts through project engineers and CAD operators.
  • Coordinates andinterfaces with government agencies on project inspections and securing relatedpermits. Physically audits / guides work of subordinates and constructionprojects to ensure government regulatory compliance.
  • Directs full scopebuilding and premises maintenance including execution of work request and orwork orders.
  • Plans efficient andeffective allocation of resources including development, and achievement ofbudget as well as five-year space plans.
  • Performs managementevaluation and competency training, and development of facilities personnel.
  • Oversees buildingmaintenance, housekeeping and repairs.
  • Manages third partyhousekeeping and BGM providers
  • Oversees the section tomeet established organizational goals, which might include such items as cycletime, total customer satisfaction, on-time delivery, performance to budget andspecifications.
  • Do other functions andactivities that may be assigned from time to time in support of productionoperation and all other departments.
  • Education
  • oAtleast with Bachelor of Science degree in either Electrical, Mechanical, orCivil Engineering, (preferred but not required is, Master of Science inBusiness Administration and or exposure to Industrial Engineering) coupled withat least 5years of directly related experiences.

    Other appropriate combinationsof above mentioned education and directly related experiences are acceptable ifthe ability to perform duties and responsibilities is demonstrated.

  • Experience
  • oStrongbackground in facilities engineering, BGM, construction, installations, coupledwith some exposure to manufacturing processes.

    This will includeoperating knowledge of electrical, mechanical, civil, structural andarchitectural processes / tools for new building construction as well as thoroughknowledge of all applicable OSHA, Safety and building codes.

  • oHasworking knowledge of methods, materials, techniques, and costs applicable toconstruction, installation, and building maintenance.

    oEffectivecommunication (verbal & written) skills coupled with information managementabilities. General knowledge of computers such as word processing andspreadsheet applications.

    oEffectiveorganizational, time management, as well as prioritizing skills. Has theability to manage diverse groups of construction and maintenance personnel.

    oHighlydeveloped interpersonal skills, management skills (influence, direct, motivate,evaluate), team building techniques, and leadership abilities.

    oEffectiveanalytical and problem solving skills, especially in areas of facilitiesengineering, and project management.
