Job Description
The main role of the two Engineers will be (this list is for us to keep in mind when interviewing the candidates) :
Expand Silicon Validation capability for new modules, new designs
To evaluate new module is in general working as defined / intended as soon as possible, ie within the first week or so of receiving first working silicon even for modules that are not yet supported by Autoval tool.
We really need the very senior level engineer because of this.
To evaluate where new modules / silicon is working, and where it breaks
To recommend improvements where needed, report bugs when found, and able to describe the issue very clearly. When a bug is found, he / she may need to prove and test it in several ways as part of the analysis.
Initial focus for the 6-9 months will be on Autoval 2.0 to get us over the hump.
Job Requirements
BSc or Masters in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, with 6+ years of experience in Software / Hardware design experience
Develop C / C++ Applications to test new Silicon or new Analog and Digital modules
Develop GUI’s using C-Sharp to create user friendly tools to be used by other engineers within Microchip
Drive definition of and develop of Application Software / Firmware
Design the software tools with System Quality Assurance in mind for reliable and robust test systems
Expertise in hardware and system level design experience and knowledge in schematic design and layout
Must be able to read and interpret written specifications, and implement software solutions from those specifications
Must be able to provide technical support to internal customers, verbally and in writing.
Must be able to work with worldwide teams located across US, India, and Europe
Must have strong verbal and written abilities in English language
Familiarity with cross-platform development and debugging tools
Familiarity with command line build tools
Proven leadership skills is a plus
