I. Essential Functions :
To provide an optimal support for Windows / VMWare Server virtualization infrastructure, and hardware; as well as interfacing with development and the hardware vendors.
II. Specific Duties, Activities, and Responsibilities :
Duties :
Perform analytical, technical and administrative work in the planning, design and installation of new and existing computer systems including Windows Server and ESXi / VMWare Environment
Manage tasks for numerous simultaneous projects related to Server Enhancements or maintenance activities
Identify technical environment issues and implement documented solutions to mitigate problems with ESXi / VMware issues prior to escalations to next level engineering.
Research recurring problems, determine anomalies within supported infrastructure.
Identify, diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve problems escalated from support engagements. Work with other groups as needed to resolve problems.
Update and create technical product trouble-shooting documentation.
Perform special projects and assignments when necessary.
Activities :
Respond to daily incident, problem, and request engagements
Managed and deploy daily, weekly, monthly maintenance activities for VMWare ESXi, Virtual Center and other VMware related technologies.
Fully document all related activities associated with tier 3 escalations, service incidents, projects, or installation utilizing current tracking systems and databases.
Responsibilities :
Manage workload and balance with normal organizational process requirements; including change control and project documentation.
Acquire and maintain expert knowledge of emerging server technologies, in order to affect support of the Cardinal Health environment.
Perform special projects, change controls or tasks in a timely manner, as assigned by Team leader or Management.
Knowledge / Skills Requirements :
Knowledge with Windows Server 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2019
VMWare ESX VSphere Virtualization Technologies (ESX 5.5 or greater, Virtual Center, Site Recovery Manager, P2V tools)
HP ProLiant ML, DL, BL Series servers
HP Blade c7000 Enclosures
HP Virtual Connect Enterprise Manager
Microsoft PowerShell / PowerCLI or VB Scripting (Good to have)
Excellent research skills
Technical documentation skills
Working Understanding of SAN technology
Working Understanding of Networking technology
